The Comms Council has today officially launched the entry call for 2018 Effie Awards, in association with TVNZ.

The blurb reads: “Since 1968, an Effie Award has been recognised by advertisers and agencies worldwide as representing the pinnacle in advertising effectiveness. It identifies the most significant achievement in marketing communications: ideas that work. Winning an Effie Award is about meeting a challenge and succeeding. 

“The 2018 Effie Awards will recognise the ‘The Effie Effect’ – the positive effects for everyone involved in a win: agency, client and, most importantly, brand. Part of this is joining The Effie Effectiveness Index, a global ranking of the marketing communications industry’s most effective agencies, advertisers and brands, based on finalist and winner data from worldwide Effie Award competitions.  

“Brands and the ideas that power them are business assets. They require vision to be built. The value of these assets pay back over years to come.”

Effies 2018 convenor David McIndoe, head of strategy at Saatchi & Saatchi, says those entries deserving of an Effie will illustrate the deep connections that brands can make when the minds of agency and client are aligned.

The value of these assets pay back over many years to come. We look forward to another year celebrating world class thinking from New Zealand.”

Entry details are now available online (see below) and will close on 14th August. Winners and finalists will be celebrated and awarded at a Gala dinner in Auckland on Thursday 18th October 2018.
