AUCKLAND, Friday: Colenso BBDO and Spark have launched Kōrerotia Tō Kōrero – Tell Your Story, a campaign which aims to inspire Kiwis to tell their own stories in te reo Māori through Spark’s translation app Kupu.
Kupu, launched in 2018, has recently undergone a revamp in time for Te Reo Māori week, allowing users to weave up to four of their own photos into stories to be shared with whānau and friends.
“The campaign’s out of home and digital features stories created with the new Kupu functionality.”
The “heartwarming” campaign tells the story of Tan, an immigrant to New Zealand who uses Kupu to learn te reo Maori and ask his partner, and her whānau, if he can marry her.
Filming took place during level two conditions with the shoot requiring a lot of contingency planning and foresight.
The campaign’s out of home and digital features stories created with the new Kupu functionality, while social influencers have been sharing their own stories as well.
