Snap, rattle and roll

SYDNEY, Today: Celebrated Goodoil comedy director Dave Wood was at the helm of the latest commercial for Wunderman Thompson client Kit Kat Australia & New Zealand.

Wood and his crew are mainly Aussies – but the scenery in this droll spot is 100% Queenstown (dressed as the Wild West).

Executive producer Sam Long said: “We settled on the South Island of New Zealand as our shoot location after considering the US, Mexico and Spain – three pinnacles of Western feature films. A couple of years ago the American feature film Slow West was shot in the South Island to double for the wild west of Colorado and it looked amazing, so we followed a similar path. It gave us a breadth of locations that mimic the filmic cornerstones of a north american Western, from forests to canyons to prairies to epic mountain backdrops in relatively close proximity to one another.”

The tvc, appropriately titled Snap Out of It, will screen on TV (on both sides of the Tasman) and online.
