Gregor test-drives the Colorado

EditorTVCs, News Make a Comment

Holden New Zealand has launched the new Colorado with a 60 second TVC entitled Tow Truck, directed by legendary Kiwi creative genius Gregor Nicholas via Special Group, Auckland.

The spot tells the story of a Holden driver who comes to town and rights a wrong, showcasing the new Colorado’s 3.5 tonne towing and low-end torque.

“Of course, the new Colorado has so much more than just loads of grunt,” says Holden GM of marketing Marnie Jane Samphier. “Apart from its great new looks and redesigned interior it’s loaded with the latest tech and has real car-like drivability.”

The viewers liked the, too. “What a lovely little ad,” wrote ‘Denzil’ on Special’s Aussie blog. “The difference between this and the rubbish that Holden produce in AU is immense.”

“The new Colorado is such a great truck that we wanted to tell a hero’s story,” said Special creative director Angus Hennah. “Gregor from Fish did a fantastic job bringing to life, what really is a modern-day Western. And the town of Thames was a great backdrop for our story.”
