The NZ Herald has announced strong audience growth across its print and digital brands to over 2 million unique Kiwi visitors each month.

The Herald online has grown to its highest ever level, increasing by 45% on last year to 1,331,000 unique audience.

“We continue to lead the content market in Auckland and have grown 11 share points in the last 12 months following a 36% increase in audience,” says NZME brand & communications general manager Sarah Kenny.

Kenny says that while Auckland is a particular strength, the Herald continues its strong performance in the South Island, adding more audience than any other content site in the South Island.

“There has been a perception in the past that the Herald isn’t a national brand but these results show how wrong that perception is,” Kenny says. “We are very strong in Auckland with 33% more digital audience than our closest competitor, but our growth nationwide is undeniable and exactly where we want the Herald to be.”
