Interior designer and judge of TV3’s The Block, Paul Izzard, has been commissioned to lead a major redesign of a new restaurant at the Wither Hills winery in Marlborough.

Wither Hills says it’s the restaurant’s first renovation in 10 years and will open this side of Christmas.

Izzard will lead the redesign of the restaurant space: “It’s an exciting project. Our design will enhance the Wither Hill visitor experience by pairing the cellar door with a relaxed and inviting well balanced culinary offer.”

English-born, Izzard has designed many hotels and restaurants in the UK. After relocating here more than 15 years ago he started his own design company IZZARD, which has grown to become one of the best in the business in creating award-winning interiors.

The new Wither Hills restaurant will open in November, initially offering a lunch-time service featuring their award winning wines matched with locally-sourced produce.

The Marlborough region is a remarkable part of the world to visit. We’re excited to re-launch our restaurant and give visitors the opportunity to sample our award-winning wines and beautiful food in a breath-taking setting,” says Craig Baldie, National Marketing Director at Lion.
