Instagram today announced that it has 2 million-plus monthly active global advertisers, doubling its advertiser base in the last six months.

“The rapid growth comes as users are spending more time than ever producing, exploring and engaging with content – especially mobile video,” says Will Easton, the Sydney-based managing director of Facebook and Instagram Australia & NZ.

Easton updated Instagram’s latest stats:

  • Users under the age of 25 now spend more than 32 mins a day on Instagram, on average
  • Last month 180 million Instagrammers visited a website, got directions, called, emailed or direct messaged to learn about a business
  • The time people spent watching video on Instagram is up more than 80% year over year

Easton did not, however, supply any stats directly relevant to the Australian or NZ markets.
