Sugar&Partners CD Dave Nash presents his latest Glug NZ project tonight at the Britomart– billed as a night of inspiration for creative types. “Just think TED, but smaller with rum, beer and hot chips,” Nash says.

The theme is Done is Better than Said, and speakers include:

“Presentations are polished, beers are on ice and wine is chilled,” Nash said this morning. “Food and nibbles will start circulating shortly after 6:15pm, courtesy of the good people at Razzbri & 1885, so make sure you’re in the door before then.

“Glug is all about filling up the creative well,” Nash said. “Our showcase event is held in London but there are now eight other events around the world including Auckland.

“They’re based around a series of talks and informal networking (dubbed Notworking). Glug has become one of the most exciting, credible and well-attended creative events around the globe.”

Glug showcases inspirational creative people and practices from art and architecture, fashion, food, digital and design. “It’s about taking some time to immerse yourself in something creative and different over a beer or two,” Nash says.

Glug launched at the pop-up MINI Garage in Ponsonby in 2011, when the speakers were Ogilvy senior creative/travel writer Richard Loseby, Air NZ marketing manager Megan Matthews, and .  Axis AdSchool (forerunner of MDS AdSchool) originator and Axis Lifetime Achievement award winner David Bell.

BUT WAIT – THERE’S ALSO THE 1885 ADMEN POKER NIGHT …

“If people are up for kicking on afterwards, conveniently at 8:30pm once we are wrapped up 1885’s ADMEN poker night kicks off,” Nash says.

“Cadilac limos, gambling, beautiful people and of course, hard liquor. If that sounds like something you’d like to be a part of then pay a visit to the basement bar at 1885 this Thursday and every Thursday thereafter from 8:30pm.

“You can still RSVP on the meet-up site, or just turn up at 6 – www.meetup.com/GlugAuckland
