NZ Women’s Weekly was the best performer in the weekly magazines division of Nielsen National Readership Survey – out overnight. And, as you’d expect, the NZ Herald led the way clearly in the National Newspaper division.

MAGAZINES
NZWW magazine was a clear leader in the Weekly Magazines category, holding steady at 591,000 readers, heading off (in order) Women’s Day, The TV Guide, NZ Listener, Autotrader, Time, and Lucky Break.
In the monthly division, Skywatch leads the way with 576,000 readers, followed by NZ House & Garden (488,000 readers), Healthy Food Guide (380,000), NZ Gardener (298,000), Mindfood (252,000), and Your Home & Garden.

North & South (228,000 readers) and Metro (120,000) both performed creditably.
Among the bi-monthlies, NZ Geographic led the way, with 330,000 readers, followed by Cuisine (283,000), and Fish & Game 261,000).
AA Directions (with 859,000 readers) was a mile in front of the field in Quarterly Magazines, followed by Hunting & Fishing NZ (485,000), Fashion Quarterly (159,000) and NZ Rugby World (156,000).
NEWSPAPERS
The NZ Herald grew readership by 1.2% to a whopping 430,000, followed by the Dominion Post (166,000), The Press (152,000), the ODT (92,000), and the Waikato Times (56,000).
In the Sundays department, the Herald On Sunday was a clear leader with 337,000 readers, with the Sunday Star Times not far behind on 251,000. NZ Farmer (126,000) and Sunday News (98,000) were next, followed a long way back by NBR (36,000).
In the Newspaper Liftouts division, Canvas stood out with 286,000 readers, followed by Your Weekend (292,000), Weekend (284,000), Travel (266,000), and Viva (232,000).
