M2 Group has appointed DDB Group agency RAPP as creative agency to manage its stable of brands, Slingshot, Orcon and Flip. DDB’s Mango has also been appointed M2 Group’s PR agency after working on the Orcon account for the past two years.

This move brings a formal end to Orcon’s partnership with Contagion, Slingshot’s with Mr Smith, and Flip’s with Sugar & Partners.

M2 Group consumer general manager Taryn Hamilton says it’s an exciting time for the business and is looking forward to working with RAPP and Mango to develop the brands and continue their growth in the market.

“Slingshot, Orcon and Flip will still act as challenger brands and offer innovation and products that put consumers first,” she said.

“Although they are positioned in the market differently, the three brands now make up about half of the market’s profile so the potential is huge. We’re confident we’ve selected the best agency partners to reach that potential.”

RAPP managing director Rob Limb said: “We’re thrilled to be appointed by M2 to help them capture more of the New Zealand marketplace. This win is also a great result for our agency on the back of our Air New Zealand win earlier this year and we cannot wait to start work.”

Claudia Macdonald, managing director, Mango, said: “Following a successful relationship with Orcon over the past two years, we’re very excited to now work with all three brands.”
