KUALA LUMPUR, Wednesday: Tourism Malaysia is currently weighing contenders in a series of global pitches for creative and media, according to a report in Mumbrella Asia (scroll down for the link).

The media pitch covers Asia-Pacific, the United States and Europe, while the creative pitch is global – and includes a nine-month long digital marketing campaign for the European market.

Most of the serious prospects have already entered – but technically at least, tenders are still open for another three weeks – they close on Monday 8 April.

Malaysia’s Tourism & Culture YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz said: “These next two years are a crucial period for our country’s tourism – by then, we expect to welcome some 36 million tourists to our shores with tourist receipts reaching RM168 billion [NZ$60 billion].”

Public logo contest
Tourism Malaysia has also announced a contest – open to the general public – to design a logo for Visit Malaysia 2020. The new creation is expected to incorporate the current ‘Malaysia Truly Asia’ logo into its design.
