AUCKLAND, Today: Media agency MBM has won the business of Lumino – The Dentists. The incumbent was MediaR (scroll down for their take on the news).

Managing partner Sean McCready said (in a release, sent overnight): “The MBM team will provide media strategy, planning and buying across offline and digital media. Already in action, MBM’s content division, Breakout Room, has developed video content designed to educate customers”.

Lumino provides high quality dentistry to New Zealanders with more than 120 practices throughout the country.

Lumino GM Josh Stent said: “While our patients know us for our professionalism, high standards of care and the positive dental experiences we provide, we also have a responsibility to help educate New Zealanders about the benefits of good oral health.

“We have a responsibility to help educate New Zealanders about the benefits of good oral health.”

“MBM are the perfect partner to help us continue this journey, enabling people to both find us and access information easily before visiting one of our practices nationwide. I know Sean and his team are up for the task.”

MBM has a team of 65 across two offices in Auckland and Wellington; deploying a full range of services from media and communications strategy, programmatic media, search and SEO, through to data and analytics consulting and content creation.

“We are New Zealand’s largest independent media agency, helping clients connect in a meaningful, profitable and sustainable way with customers and consumers,” McCready said.

MediaR has the last word
MediaR director Tony Richards said: “mediaR held the business for over 12 years. When we started working with Lumino they had only eight practices in Auckland and we were involved for the first four years of their growth as the Lumino marketing department – after which time they had grown to a size that outsourcing was no longer viable and an in-house marketing manager was appointed.

“mediaR helped the team steer the business to its current 120 practices nationwide, and in its 12 year tenure was responsible for all strategy, creative, media and more recently, digital and social.

“After recent changes in the leadership team, in those immortal words – Our Work Was Done and it was time for a change.”

“We are immensely proud of the relationships made and the contribution to helping develop Lumino into the organisation it is now. It is a personal career highlight of mine personally – and for the agency as a whole – and is testament to the entire Lumino team for the depth of relationships and support we enjoyed.

“It was a true partnership, where we were considered an integral part of the entire Lumino team.

“After recent changes in the leadership team, in those immortal words – Our Work Was Done and it was time for a change.

“It is with obvious disappointment that we part company, but do so knowing we had an integral involvement in the development of a highly successful and recognisable NZ brand and are very proud of the work produced, friends made and milestones achieved.

“We wish them well in their future growth aspirations.”
