Oh dear, could this really be the end of the Big Mac?, asks Australia’s B&T magazine, citing a recent study of McDonald’s franchisees in the US.
While it seems most of the NZ McDonald’s franchisees remain in sturdy good heath, the US study, by Nomura analyst Mark Kalinowski, found that 30% of franchisees in the US were “probably insolvent”.
Respondents believed the brand was in a “deep depression” and could be facing its “final days”.
