Ideas Minister backs Made In NZ

The Crown minister who directly oversees the NZ ad and media world says she is committed to promote Kiwi creativity and content as cornerstone policy.

Broadcasting/Comms/Digital Media Minister Clare Curran – along with all 19 of her Cabinet colleagues – was interviewed by the Herald On Sunday, which confronted each with a blunt double-barrelled question about (1) what they would commit to doing in power and (crucially) the one thing they vowed not to do.

“I commit to putting non-commercial public media news and NZ-made content at the centre of our media,” Curran said.

“And I won’t let NZ be viewed by the world, and the next generation, as a place where ideas don’t flourish and transparency is a myth.”
