SYDNEY, Friday: After 17 years, The Monkeys AUNZ co-founder (and group chief creative officer of Accenture Song) Scott Nowell has exited both roles. He co-founded the agency in 2006 with Mark Green and Justin Drape.

Under Nowell’s creative leadership, The Monkeys has won a Cannes Titanium Lion for Tuvalu The First Digital Nation.

During this time, the agency has grown to 165 people with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

“We are part of a formidable global team, and have Tara Ford, Ant Keogh (both AU) and Damon Stapleton (NZ) running creative.”

Says Nowell: “Of course, I am very proud of the work we have made and the impact it’s had. But the real joy has been the people I’ve been privileged to share this journey with.”

In 2017 The Monkeys was acquired by Accenture Interactive, now known as Accenture Song.

Nowell said: “I’m very comfortable stepping away at this moment. We are doing the best work we’ve ever done, we are part of a formidable global team, and we have Tara Ford, Ant Keogh and Damon Stapleton running creative in ANZ. We could not be in better shape.”
