MediaWorks and NZME has reiterated that The Radio Bureau is here to stay – despite the determined efforts of some journos in this town.
MediaWorks, NZME, and the independent radio stations say they are working together to re-shape The Radio Bureau so it best meets the changing demands of the market.
Dean Buchanan, managing director NZME Radio, and Wendy Palmer, ceo MediaWorks Radio (and TRB chair), say The Radio Bureau has the full backing of both companies.
“We have agreed on a structure that is best suited to the current and future needs of our evolving industry, and the TRB team is informed and excited by the challenges and opportunities ahead,” Palmer said in a joint statement, issued this morning.
“This is the start of an exciting new chapter for The Radio Bureau,” said Buchanan.
TRB acting general manager Peter Richardson said: “TRB has an important job to do for the radio industry. I am working with the senior account directors and planners to ensure TRB continues to deliver industry-wide planning solutions with the high levels of service our agency clients expect.”
