The Sweetshop lands Edward Housden for ANZ

AUCKLAND, Today: The Sweetshop has added director Edward Housden to its Australia and New Zealand rosters, backing a filmmaker known for sharp comedic timing, understated performances and a strong eye for craft.

Housden brings a thoughtful style to both commercial and shortform work, with a knack for turning ordinary moments into distinctive, engaging stories that still feel polished and restrained.

Greg Fyson, Global Head of Director Development, and co-Managing Director of The Sweetshop Australia says, “Edward is one of those rare directors whose work feels both effortless and deeply considered. Talented as he is tall… I am very excited for what’s to come.”

Housden has worked with agencies including Adam & Eve, DDB, Saatchi & Saatchi, Mother and BBH, creating campaigns for brands such as Esso, Stella Artois, Captain Morgan, Nivea and SEEK.

On joining the production company, Edward Housden says “I’m very excited to join the sweet people at the Sweetshop. It’s such a great team to be a part of. We’ve already jumped into some really fun work together and I can’t wait to see what’s around the corner.”

His short film “Muscles” premiered as an Official Selection at Cannes, before screening at festivals including SXSW and BFI London.

His commercial work has also picked up recognition across the global awards circuit, including D&AD, Cannes Young Director Award, Ciclope and the British Arrows.

Edward is now available for commercial, branded and short-form projects across Australia and New Zealand through The Sweetshop.
