Nike NZ launches fashion zine

Auckland fashion photographer Holly Sarah Burgess and Nike, with a little help from Auckland’s Britomart centre, have launched a new zine, The Rise – essentially a vehicle to market Nike products in general, and the Nike Cortez range in particular.

Nike generates its own creative out of Melbourne, so no creative agency is involved in the zine project. Nike’s media agency Mindshare Australia also was not involved.

But a key role in spreading the word in Godzone is in the hands of independent Auckland-based PR practitioner Lily Batt.

“The women in this zine embody the constantly evolving face and attitude of young New Zealand women,” she says. “They are unapologetic in their creative energy, unique style and powerful diversity.

“They live their lives with grit and energy and they are inspiring in vastly different ways. They range from dancers to poets to national sprint champions to rappers and more.”

There’s also a print copy of The Rise – distributed by all NZ Nike and Cortez stockists (a key one is Nike Britomart), NZ’s Area 51 fashion stores, Loaded, and cafes everywhere.
