NZ digital dvertising’s growth has continued unabated, reaching a record $159 million in the third quarter of 2014 – a 22% year-on-year increase, according to the latest IAB/PwC Report.
Search & Directories increased by 66% over the same period while Video revenue also reflected significant growth (42%). Mobile put a marker down by posting a staggering 225% increase – albeit off a smaller base.
“The NZ digital market is on track to reach the $500m mark in 2014 – capturing 22%-25% of advertising spend,” said IAB ceo Adrian Pickstock. “It’s likely we’ll see digital adspend surpass newspapers early next year and put immense pressure on television in the process.”
IAB/PwC Report was established in 2007 and reflects interactive and mobile advertising spend provided by around 35 advertising agencies and publishers.
