AUCKLAND, Today: Ogilvy NZ has won a pitch for fast-growing NZ e-commerce platform TheMarket. Ogilvy NZ now becomes TheMarket’s agency for strategy, creative and brand work.

Previously, the business was handled by a number of agencies (as yet, unidentified).

TheMarket marketing GM Catalina Wilkinson said: “Launched in 2019 and backed by The Warehouse Group, TheMarket gives New Zealanders access to more than three million products from international, local, and niche brands – all in one place.

“With three million visits per month and growth of 127% YoY, the foundation is set to accelerate growth.

“That’s where Ogilvy NZ comes in. Our ambition is simple – to have over a million customers shopping on TheMarket by 2025, and we believe that Ogilvy is the right partner to help us build a meaningful relationship with Kiwis so that they choose us first.”

“We’re fizzing to be working with a clever, ambitious and just really bloody lovely team.”

Ogilvy NZ head of strategy Nick Salter said: “We’re fizzing to be working with the clever, ambitious and just really bloody lovely team at TheMarket. They’ve got an excellent product, an exciting future and a brilliant point of view on shopping that’s just begging to be let on about.

“We believe they’ve got all the right building blocks to become an iconic Kiwi brand, and we’re thrilled Ogilvy will play a part in their journey to get there.”

Ogilvy NZ managing partner Megan Clark Cook said: “Landing TheMarket caps off a strong few months for the agency, coming shortly after some other soon-to-be announced new business wins.

“TheMarket offers New Zealanders a huge range of products, plus amazing multiple deals and delivery options all in one search experience – it’s THE Kiwi online retailer that we should be proud to call our own.

“The entire Ogilvy NZ team can’t wait to take the brand to the next level.”
