Publisher taps three for new digital team

NZME. has released details of its new group digital team in a move designed to bring the power of its digital audience and content propositions together across the business.

Laura Maxwell-Hansen, NZME. director digital media, says the new group digital team will become a single point of contact for sales, content and operations questions and strategy.

“The media environment requires our digital team to be brilliant, cohesive and responsive,” says Maxwell-Hansen. “Audiences have rejected scheduled TV and we-tell-you programming. Our new digital team is designed to drive the invention of the new media environments as much as help our advertisers to navigate this exciting new landscape across platforms.”

  • Marcus Forbes is NZME’s new group GM digital content. He comes from seven months heading up digital media with NZME. Radio and a further 14 years’ experience creating and implementing media content strategies to drive engagement, most recently as general manager – media at Yahoo New Zealand and concurrently as a director of Yahoo!7 in Australia. He says the changes that have started within the NZME. group point to an exciting and extremely bright future. “The digital team has great creative and innovative minds and a focus on delivering amazing content across all platforms every day. The big plus is we have a true vision for where NZME. is going and what we want to achieve.”
  • Andy Wylie joins NZME. as new group gm digital advertising operations and will define, lead and deliver the group digital advertising operations strategy. He joins NZME. in January from Yahoo New Zealand, with over nine years’ experience in digital advertising operations across global and local platforms. Maxwell-Hansen says Wylie has an impressive track record in delivering successful commercial outcomes.
  • Ben Gibb rounds out the team to become group gm digital sales in February. Most recently Gibb was at Yahoo New Zealand and in his new role with NZME. he will provide a single point of leadership for digital advertising revenue across all NZME.’s digital assets. “Ben is an experienced, passionate and innovative media sales professional with 17 years’ experience in the New Zealand and UK media markets, predominantly in digital and magazines,” said Maxwell-Hansen.

She says she is delighted with the calibre of the team she’s brought together. “This team has a wealth of digital experience and will develop, drive and work across the business to deliver market-leading digital audience and advertiser propositions.”
