Triathlon NZ has appointed Freemans Bay indie Republik to its media and creative account, effective immediately. There was no pitch and no incumbent – the account was previously managed by a number of smaller and sponsor-aligned agencies.

“We’re really excited about this appointment,” said Republik director Paul McNamara. “Triathlon is going from strength to strength and we’re very happy to be playing our part in promoting the sport here in New Zealand.

“Tri NZ hosts and sanctions many events over the summer months, including the Sovereign Tri Series with the first being Sovereign Tinman at Mt Maunganui on 7 December.

“I might even give one a go!”

Triathlon NZ commercial manager Julie Monaghan said: “Off the back of bringing on Sovereign Insurance as our major sponsorship partner, we are delighted to appoint Republik as our official agency of record. They’re a great team, they produce quality work and they just make things happen. We couldn’t be happier.”
