The NZ screen production industry directory is reminding film companies that the rollover deadline for the annual print edition of The Data Book is coming up in just a few weeks – on Wednesday 31 May.

Listings options in The Data Book are many and varied – from the standard free listing (which includes a single category online, and in the print edition) up to the Elite option for businesses wanting a more comprehensive profile.

The Data Book publisher Kelly Lucas (who also manages ad sales for M+AD) says: “We print 600 copies of the hard copy edition each year and these are distributed to industry decision-makers at the annual SPADA conference as well as to companies throughout New Zealand and to key players internationally.”

The Data Book’s online traffic remains consistently high with more than 4300 unique users per month visiting the website (scroll down), an increase of 25% on the previous year, as well as 32,000 page views per month.

“These are users looking to hire screen industry professionals and includes 1000 users searching from overseas,” Lucas says. “However, the vast majority of our traffic comes from local searches.”

“With our online and print tools and our improved marketing strategies, we are future-proofing The Data Book so we can continue to support and serve the local screen industry and its people.”

The Data Book invests significantly in targeted online advertising via services such as Google Ad Words in order to promote the website and maximise exposure for its members. And next month, the company will unveil a brand new website which will deliver added functionality and an enhanced user experience.

“Next year The Data Book will celebrate its 30th anniversary,” says Lucas. “In the lead-up to that milestone, we’ve spent the past year planning our website redesign and look forward to unveiling that in the coming months.

“With our online and print tools and our improved marketing strategies, we are future-proofing The Data Book so we can continue to support and serve the local screen industry and its people,” she says.

“Just as the New Zealand screen production industry has grown significantly over the past three decades, The Data Book is working to ensure that we provide continue to provide a cohesive marketing tool for the local screen industry and also that we develop and expand in order to meet the demands of new technologies and the growth of our community.”
