AUCKLAND, Today: Fanshawe St-based full-service media agency Ikon Communications has been appointed to handle media strategy and implementation duties for Solarcity, effective immediately.

There was no fulltime incumbent – and no pitch.

“Ikon impressed us with their organisational purpose and cultural alignment to our business,” said Solarcity chief marketing officer Maryanne Smith.

“Their strategic, digital and data capabilities, aligned to the highly-creative media work they’ve recently produced, make them the perfect partners for us.”

She says the company is committed to the establishment of clean, affordable, and renewable energy usage for all of New Zealand, via their revolutionary service solarZero.

“SolarZero has become the single largest provider of residential solar power in the country.”

Over the past three years, she says solarZero has become the single largest provider of residential solar power in the country.

Ikon’s MD Zac Stephenson said: “Solarcity is perfectly aligned to our way of thinking. We’re excited to be entrusted to help this great team achieve their huge ambitions for NZ’s energy future, and believe there’s a significant opportunity to do so.”

Solarcity will soon debut a new brand communication, Grid for Good, created by Rainger & Rolfe, with its launch the first part of Ikon’s appointment.
