Starcom NZ has won the media account for ultra-fast internet provider Stuff Fibre following a competitive pitch. Stuff Fibre is a new entrant to the market and Starcom will work to position the business as a challenger brand in an increasingly crowded marketplace.

“The advertising campaign will challenge incumbent providers, using tongue-in-cheek Kiwi humour while focusing on Stuff Fibre’s product truths,” said Starcom business director Paula Adams.

Stuff Fibre creative is produced in house, but the Octopus featured in the campaign (affectionately known as Inky) has been made by Studio Local. “We are currently rocking out the campaign in OOH, print and digital,” Adams said.

Stuff Fibre managing director Sam Morse said: “In start-up we look for partners who, like us, are keen to try new things, challenge the status quo, are dedicated to learning and intensely focused on delivering exceptional outcomes for customers.

“We are delighted to have found these qualities in the team at Starcom and look forward to some exciting times ahead.”

Starcom managing director Jason Theodore said: “The Stuff Fibre pitch was an exciting, fast-turnaround process in which we bought to life our human-experience thinking to demonstrate how Stuff Fibre will achieve its business targets.”

The appointment is effective immediately.
