Sticky fingers?

To get Kiwis excited about the return of the Macca’s cult classic McRib burger, DDB’s inhouse production arm Maker has created an unusual online film unveiling a more, er … saucy side to the brand.

The 90sec piece of content, designed especially for Facebook, unapologetically highlights the star of the show, the McRib hero, its tasty, sticky barbeque sauce.

“We wanted to share that feeling many McRib-lovin’ fans get when they take a bite of the burger and that sauce hits them – and then exaggerate it completely,” says DDB ECD Shane Bradnick.

Jo Mitchell, head of marketing for McDonald’s NZ, said: “This fun campaign is something a bit different for McDonald’s but really speaks to the messy McRib eating experience as well as the humour of the blokes, and ladies, who can’t get enough of it.”
