AUCKLAND, Today: With 113 nods, Colenso BBDO leads the Axis Awards 2021 finalists list – released by the Comms Council last night.
Next is DDB Aotearoa (99), Special (40), Dentsu (36). FCB (24), Clemenger BBDO (24), Saatchi & Saatchi (20), TBWA\ (14), Motion Sickness (13), Pitchblack (12), YoungShand (8), .99 (6), and VMLY&R (4).
In all, there were 580 entries across 99 categories so far – with three more rounds of judging to go.
Convenor of judges Maria Devereux (ECD at Colenso) said: “As you’d expect of our brilliant little country, we adapted and worked harder than ever in 2020 to create exceptional work in the face of adversity.
“The number of finalists and the standard of work this year is a tribute to what we’re all capable of as an industry.”

The winners will be announced at the gala dinner next month – on Thursday 18 March at Auckland’s Shed 10.
