AUCKLAND, Tuesday: Following an uncontested pitch, DDB Group’s digital experience agency Tribal Aotearoa has been named as the new lead digital agency for Fonterra Brands, including the leading agency for Kapiti.

There was no incumbent, and Tribal was the only agency to pitch. The work was handled previously by a variety of agencies

Tribal managing director James Blair said: “Operating within the hotly contested FMCG Dairy category, Fonterra were looking for a digital partner to service and elevate their digital needs, with the goal of continued growth and brand awareness in the market.

“Tribal proved to be the perfect partner with its ethos of connecting traditional brand storytelling through digital first channels.

“Tribal Aotearoa is honoured to have secured the opportunity to work with Fonterra on some of the most loved and iconic Kiwi brands.

“Tribal will be working across Fonterra’s hero brands Anchor, Mainland, Primo, Fresh’n Fruity and Kapiti.”

“We initially launched a series of work for Kapiti Yoghurt earlier this year, so we’re looking forward to expanding our work into other Fonterra brands, with several exciting briefs already in the pipeline for later this year and into 2023.”

As the lead digital agency, Tribal will be working across Fonterra’s hero brands including Anchor, Mainland, Primo, Fresh’n Fruity and Kapiti.

Fonterra MD Mike Boness said: “We’re thrilled to announce Tribal as the new digital agency for Fonterra Brands and are already seeing that the power of digital first thinking is having a positive impact on our marketing efforts.”

“The world is more connected than ever before, and we’re excited to be working with an agency that can help us achieve our ambition to be leaders in digital.”
