Saatchi & Saatchi have created a series of ASB ‘magic’ videos by American Vine star Zach King, to celebrate the bank’s sponsorship of New Zealand Sevens.

Twenty-six-year-old King produced a series of three, seven-second clips featuring Liam Messam, DJ Forbes, Sam Dickson, Sarah Goss, Huriana Manuel and Tyla Nathan-Wong, which creatively depict the speed of the game they love.

King has received global attention for his work, and is perhaps best known for creating the Jedi Kittens video on YouTube. He has graced the couches of Ellen, The Today Show, CNN and Fox News and his videos on entertainment social network, Vine, have been viewed more than one billion times.

ASB executive general manager marketing and communications Roger Beaumont says ASB is a proud sponsor of both the All Blacks Sevens and the New Zealand Women’s Sevens teams. He hopes the fun videos will help to boost the sport’s profile in what is set to be a huge year for the code.

“Interest in the Sevens is growing around the globe, and we’re proud to be backing our teams as they go all the way. Through ASB’s partnership with New Zealand Rugby, it has been our goal to provide New Zealand Sevens players with an opportunity to put the sport and our incredible players on display,” he said.

“Zach King has an extensive following on social media and we admire the creativity and humour that goes into his work. We hope that everyone – not just rugby fans – will enjoy the videos Zach has created for us.”

Corey Chalmers, ECD, Saatchi & Saatchi said: “It was great fun working with Zach and the All Blacks Sevens teams, for yet another typically-ASB take on sponsorship. As always, I love that ASB embraces the ambition of working with fantastic young talent such as Zach, who’s not only a Vine superstar but also gave us a fresh, unexpected way to create memorable work – for a bank.”
