Just over a year since launching in New Zealand, VMO (Val Morgan Outdoor) is extending its network into the Wellington CBD, bringing the network of digital office tower screens to 80 across 50 buildings.

VMO is New Zealand’s only office tower network, says MD Anthony Deeble.

“We’re proud to be expanding our reach in prime CBD location across New Zealand,” he says. “This growth places VMO at the forefront of the digital out of home market in New Zealand.”

VMO Work – a media platform connecting advertisers to a valuable audience of working professionals – plays full motion video as well as up-to-date news and sports, financial information, weather and the property’s directory information.

Strategically positioned in high-traffic thoroughfares in office buildings, such as lift-wells and lobbies – the network provides an informative and engaging media channel for professionals.

“We plan to at least double the number of screens in premium office buildings in both North and South Island by the end of the year,” Deeble says.

$2m investment
Total investment in the New Zealand network at the end of 2016 equated to more than NZ$2 million with further investments planned this year.

“Our vision is to be a world leader in digital outdoor using world-class technology and innovation. We’re committed to investing our market-leading technology in the New Zealand market.”

The VMO Work business model is based on over 14 years of digital out of home experience in the Australian market, and in 2016 alone VMO enjoyed more than 50% growth year-on-year in New Zealand.

Dart Vader
Last December VMO also launched DART – Digital-outdoor Audiences in Real Time – to the New Zealand market. DART uses AMDs (audience measurement devices), to anonymously analyse audiences to demonstrate who has viewed a campaign and how long they have engaged.

It is VMO’s exclusive real-time audience measurement system. Across the VMO Work network DART measures 15,000 NZ viewers on a weekly basis.

NZ general manager Gordon Frykberg said: “The screens and technology we are taking to market is market-leading and I am excited about the investment programme we have planned in 2017.”

VMO is a division of the Hoyts Group media & entertainment company in Australia & New Zealand.
