Global professional hair colour, styling and care company Wella, has appointed Mango Sydney and Mango New Zealand as its public relations agency partners across Australia and New Zealand after a competitive pitch (against unnamed agencies).

Mango will deliver a variety of marcomms services including communications planning, creative, public relations, experiential, sponsorship and digital for all brands within the Wella portfolio.

“We went to market in both countries to find the best agencies – and didn’t expect to find one agency that could deliver against our complex brief,” said Coty Professional Beauty ANZ commercial director Matthew Foster.

“Wella needs an agile partner with expertise in generating cut through with stand-out strategy and creativity.”

“We are thrilled to have found everything we need in one trans-Tasman agency.”

Wella ANZ brand manager Emma Wright said: “Our new partner needed to be able to deliver PR services including media and influencer engagement, work with our stylists and ambassadors, leverage existing and new partnerships, and above all, be the right fit for Wella, reflecting our core beliefs and values.

“We are thrilled to have found everything we need in one trans-Tasman agency, and we look forward to working collaboratively with Mango on our upcoming plans.”

The agency was selected after a competitive pitch in July.

Mango NZ MD Claudia Macdonald said: “The Wella brand is synonymous with making people feel good. Working together presents our team with an opportunity to demonstrate not only Wella’s market-leading strengths in colour, care and styling, but ultimately about how it makes people feel.

“This is a significant new partnership for our business and we warmly welcome Wella to Mango.”
