She notes, “Looking at search data, we noticed an interesting trend – people are looking for dogs that aren’t really like dogs at all. Meowzer is our way of drawing attention to this issue and encouraging responsible pet adoption in a playful way.”

Alisha Sinclair from 9 Lives Orphanage points out the dire state of animal shelters, especially during cat breeding season. But she’s hopeful: “We know that cats too, can be man’s best friend. Cats can offer the same level of companionship but without many of the demands that come with dog ownership.

And it’s not just about clever online tactics. WHISKAS® is also getting real-life pet owners to sing the praises of Meowzers on social media.
