Leading data intelligence business Isentia NZ is celebrating the announcement that its NZ head of insight, Ngaire Crawford, has been chosen to chair the International Association for Measurement & Evaluation of Communication Global Young Leaders Group – the world’s largest organisation for media intelligence and insights professionals.

Ngaire Crawford will drive the strategy of this group, which will organise education initiatives and events to promote Amec.

“With more than a decade’s experience in communications research and as insights manager at Isentia NZ, Ngaire is an ideal fit for the role,” says Isentia NZ country manager Russ Horell.

“We are overjoyed that Ngaire has been recognised as a global authority on media measurement,” he said. “It is just what she deserves for her many years of providing actionable insights and enabling New Zealanders to make smarter business decisions.”

He says Crawford joined Isentia in 2008 as the first media analyst in the New Zealand market. She gained a detailed understanding of media after completing a master’s degree in media studies.

“Ngaire is a fantastic advocate for the valuable role that media insights plays in business comms globally.”

Ngaire Crawford said:  “I’m passionate about the value of data and great research and I’m excited to help promote its importance in our changing media landscape.”

Crawford was the recipient of Amec’s 2014 Young Professional of the Year award, and Amec ceo Barry Leggetter said: “Ngaire is a fantastic advocate for the valuable role that media insights plays in business communications globally.

“We are delighted to welcome Ngaire as the new Global Young Leaders chair. She has already made a big contribution to the group and I look forward to working with her as she sets out her own agenda.”

Amec represents organisations and practitioners who provide media evaluation and communication research. It currently has more than 160 members and 86 countries worldwide. Crawford will have a specific focus on up-and-coming talent in the industry.

How it works
Because the Young Leaders Group is global, working across all time zones, it is quite virtual – so they collaborate online. They conference call to check in more formally on projects and ideas at least quarterly, and meet in person at the Amec summit each year. This year is in Barcelona in June.
