Asia’s media agencies – including Carat, Dentsu, Mindshare, OMD, OMG, and ZenithOptimedia – are gearing up for Campaign Asia’s MediaWorks, a four-day bootcamp-style training course to be held Wednesday-Saturday 26-29 April in Hanoi, Vietnam.

MediaWorks (no relation!) returns to Hanoi for the 12th year to test the newest batch of rising stars in the media and communications industry. The workshop is said to be an intense and rewarding learning experience designed to challenge young talent to think quickly and creatively execute their ideas as a team.

Guided by senior level industry experts, MediaWorks replicates real-life scenarios, tasking syndicate teams to pitch to a real client on a real brief. Attendees must brainstorm, prepare and present their pitch for the account to a panel of industry heads and to the client.

As part of the workshop, MediaWorks incorporates a one-day conference which gathers industry leaders and professional trainers to examine practical applications such as obstacles facing the next generation, strategies for winning pitches and how to encourage creativity while delivering the client’s objectives.

“Mediaworks is an amazing forum where media professionals come together, are placed into a scenario with limited time to deliver amazing work,” said OMG’s Torie Henderson.

“I was amazed at the quality of work produced by the delegates, some with less than six months experience. It opens your eyes up to the talent we have in our industry and gives me reassurance for its future.

“If you are given the opportunity, I would recommend getting involved, either as a delegate or as mentor, either way you will get a lot from the most intense 60 hours of your life, and you might even get some sleep too!”
