Y&R dials the same number

Y&R’s first new campaign for the Electricity Authority almost seamlessly picks up the thread of FCB’s original award-winning WhatsMyNumber.org.nz campaign.

Y&R won the EA’s creative & media business in a pitch from FCB earlier this year.

The first new work delivered by Y&R was launched over the weekend. The campaign has a distinctive new focus that prompts Kiwis to consider what their annual power savings might really be worth to them.

“When you think about what we go through just to earn our shiny little pennies, it makes a lot of sense to hang onto them,” says Y&R Wellington CD Scott Henderson.

“The more value you place on the savings, the more reason you’ve got to take a couple of minutes and check your power deal.”

The campaign – which includes TV, outdoor, digital and ambient advertising – focuses on how simple, quick and easy it is to check your potential savings.

As part of the campaign development, the WhatsMyNumber website has undergone a refresh with new functionality to further improve the user experience.

“We’re very proud of the new work and we are confident it will bring some fresh new energy to WhatsMyNumber,” said Electricity Authority programme & procurement manager Todd Collings.
