APN Outdoor gave away eight skateboards, two paddle boards, one surfboard and one snowboard as its four-week campaign to promote its premium network of large-format, roadside billboards came to an end.

The company’s Boards competition offered weekly entrants the chance to win their choice of a Channel Islands Neck Beard 5 Fin 6ft surfboard, a Molokai 9ft paddle board or a snowboard (for men a Burton 2015 Custom snowboard and for women a K2 2015 Bright Lite snowboard), plus two Shifty-Woody Cruiser skateboards.

To enter, participants filled in a simple online survey detailing the role of billboards in an outdoor campaign.

“The talk about town has been very positive and our clients have been scrambling to get into the prize draws,” said APN Outdoor general manager Phil Clemas.

“We have really enjoyed this month-long promotion,” he says. “It was a bit of fun and helped remind our clients of the huge impact, reach and attention opportunities billboard media has to offer.”

The week 3 paddle board winner was Charlotte White from OMD. “Charlotte can’t wait to practice ahead of summer weekends at her parents’ bach on Waiheke Island,” Clemas said.

Week 4’s snowboard winner was Barbara Mantey from Strategy Christchurch. Clemas says she was feeling a bit stressed out not owning any skis or a snowboard for the upcoming Strategy Ski Day. “So when APN Outdoor offered the chance to possibly win a snowboard, she couldn’t believe her luck and is very pleased that she won’t look like a loser up the mountain.”

Week 4’s snowboard winner was Barbara Mantey from Strategy Christchurch.

The skateboard winners across the last two weeks were Elena Redden (IKON), Kelly Rosnell (MediaCom), James Cartwright (Starcom,Wellington) and Luke Beaumont (GSL Promotus).
