BMW Australia puts creative out to pitch

Auto manufacturer BMW Group Australia has kicked off a pitch process for its creative account, according to a report in B&T Australia.

The pitch comes after BMW and incumbent Ogilvy Australia reached the end of their current contract. The agency has been working with the car brand for more than 25 years.

“Both parties have mutually agreed not to extend beyond the current contracted period,” a BMW spokesperson told B&T.

“BMW Group Australia has begun the process to appoint an alternate supplier.”

Ogilvy declined to comment when contacted by B&T.

The Australian report did not mention NZ – but DDB NZ looks strong after retaining the creative account for BMW/Mini in this country, following a competitive pitch process in May last year.
