Cannes to probe Grey’s ‘fake’ claims

The Cannes Lions management is to review the eligibility of Grey Singapore’s controversial I Sea app, labelled a “terrible fake” after it won a Bronze Lion earlier this week.

The app was created to help searches find refugees lost at sea. The review will take place after the festival finishes this weekend.

The work claimed a Bronze in the Promo & Activation Lions where it was also shortlisted, as well as being shortlisted in the Mobile, Media and Direct Lions.

“I can now confirm that the review will be conducted with Grey, following concerns expressed about aspects of I Sea’s functionality,” said Lions Festivals head of communications Kate Furey, in a statement issued to global media.
