AUCKLAND, Tuesday: 2degrees has teamed up with Amazon to offer Amazon Prime Video memberships to its broadband customers. The agencies helping to align matters at this end are DDB (creative), Ikon (media) and Porter Novelli (PR)..

While Amazon Prime Video has had a relatively low profile in New Zealand so far, 2degrees has teamed up with the platform because it sees the award-winning and exclusive content it offers as having great appeal for consumers.

The telco provider is activating a far-reaching campaign including above-the-line, billboards, web, digital, TV and POS. A credits list was not available at publication time.

Chief of consumer at 2degrees Scott Taylor said he was delighted to be able to give customers a strong content offering: “We know Kiwis love a good TV series or film and we know Amazon Prime Video will have huge appeal.

“This is a global brand that has made significant strides with original and award-winning content, and we’re delighted to offer that to 2degrees broadband customers,” he said.

Amazon Prime Video will give Kiwis access to thousands of popular movies and TV series, such as All or Nothing: New Zealand All Blacks, The Grand Tour featuring Jeremy Clarkson, Homecoming starring Julia Roberts, and the critically acclaimed/award-winning The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.

Customers can access Prime Video on multiple devices at once – from compatible Smart TVs, tablets or smartphones. Content can also be downloaded to be watched offline on compatible devices.

To celebrate the launch, 2degrees has a joining offer for new customers who sign up to a 12-month unlimited broadband plan. Existing customers who are not on a contract can qualify for a year of Amazon Prime Video compliments of 2degrees if they sign up to a 12-month unlimited broadband plan.

Existing customers on the 80GB plan can try Amazon Prime Video with an introductory offer of six months at half price (currently $4.49). Or they can upgrade to a 12-month unlimited broadband plan and get one year of Amazon Prime Video compliments of 2degrees.
