Let’s get this right – the CAANZ Beacon Awards and the APN Outdoor after party will be held in Auckland on Thursday 1 May – that’s the day after tomorrow – not Thursday 8 May, as M+AD was erroneously informed (no names here, sorry!).

Here’s the full – updated – release from yesterday.

APN Outdoor has announced that it will once again be hosting the official after party for the 2014 CAANZ Beacon Awards.

The APNO/Friends in High Places after party swings into action immediately after the Beacons awards ceremony winds up at the Viaduct Events Centre around 9.30pm (the cash bar stays open till 11pm) on Thursday 1 May.

The after party – exclusive to guests from the Beacons – will be held at Studio The Venue in K Rd. The entertainment includes DJs DylanC and Gene Rivers, who will both be playing throughout the night.

APN Outdoor general manager NZ Phil Clemas says he’s pleased at the CAANZ invitation to return this year, after successful events in 2011 & 2012.

“With more than 850 guests expected to attend our after party, we are proud to once again be affiliated with the CAANZ Beacon Awards,” Clemas said. “Just as the awards are known for their focus on strategy, implementation and getting noticed, APN Outdoor and Friends in High Places are known for their commitment to creativity, relationships and fun.

“We see hosting the after party as a great opportunity to entertain New Zealand media’s finest, while at the same time showcasing the stand-out quality and versatility of our LED technology.”

Several large LED screens will light up the venue with innovative use of content and lighting designed to “dazzle the audience”.

Guests can ensure they arrive at the after party in style, via a fleet of six Minis which will be on hand to transport them from the Viaduct Events Centre up to Studio The Venue.

The Mini shuttle service will run for one hour from 9.50pm on a first-in/first-served basis. To receive a complimentary ride, guests are asked to have on them their Friends in High Places After Party VIP pass, which they will be given at the awards ceremony.

Photos and videos from the after party will be posted to the official Friends in High Places Facebook page following the event; www.facebook.com/FriendsInHighPlaces. A selection will also go out to M+AD readers the next morning.
