Did you get caught in the storm on Wednesday night? Not the weather bomb, but the social media one brewed by the #SMCAKLS 2015 – New Zealand’s first social media awards – organised by Social Media Club Auckland.

The One Club has announced the entry call for The One Show 2016 – months ahead of the usual submission period – and introduced a quarterly entry system, as well as a set of PR categories.

“I was done for good. I sat in a cold office above a café for a couple of years and gave the novel thing a go, which was incredibly difficult. Every time I got half way through a draft, I’d have an idea on how to make the whole thing better and start again. So I’ve now got a collection of mildly interesting half written stories.”

CAANZ has appointed a new frontperson (aka office support administrator/receptionist) following the departure for Europe of Nicky Monera, who’s off on her OE.

Entrants for the 2015 Effies have barely two weeks to file their submissions. The first deadline is 4pm on Tuesday 4 August, and the late deadline (penalty payment required) comes just two days later – on Thursday 6 August at 4pm.

oOh!media is to build New Zealand’s first full-motion digital banner, capable of displaying full motion creative, as part of its contract to create an advanced digital advertising network for Auckland’s newest large retail destination, the NorthWest Shopping Centre.
